Larini Exhaust Systems
Larini 'Sports' System
A Larini 'Sports' System is a meticulously engineered,
high performance sporting exhaust, developed for ‘fast
road’ use. Every Larini ‘Sports’ System is tuned
specifically to each vehicle to ensure that the
desired balance of enhanced power, improved torque
and a sophisticated sound is achieved.
Design and development is based around scientific
knowledge, and not assumptions.
Tradition
Our methodology is one of understanding a
manufacturer's heritage - the passion, the history,
the tradition. We then initiate a dedicated testing
and development programme to manufacture a sports
exhaust with a sound in keeping with the motorsport
heritage of old. Harking back to the glory
days of unrestricted sound and un-metered gas flow.
Modern day supercars, such as the Lamborghini
Gallardo and Aston Martin DB9, are re-united with
past glories once they are fitted with a
Larini ‘Sports’ System.
Equally, classic supercars such as the overtly
|
|
complex, Formula 1 inspired, Ferrari 512 Berlinetta
Boxer, are also transformed thanks to our dedication
to engineering efficiency and acoustic pleasure.
Sophisticated Sound
A Larini ‘Sports’ System is designed to offer a
highly sophisticated and tuned sound that
increases exponentially with throttle opening.
By utilising developments such as dedicated sound
chambers and octave band frequency monitoring
techniques, our technicians are able to develop
Systems which produce the Larini 'Note' under
acceleration, as opposed to the drone and excessive
volume often present in other performance systems.
Where a Larini ‘Sports’ System does have more
volume than the original, it is not offensive.
The volume increases with the revs so as not to
intrude into the cabin, ensuring a satisfying
sound outside during acceleration. This is owed to
the critical balance attained between improved
sound and volume control at idle, full throttle, and
steady cruising.
Combining subtlety with aggression enables a Larini
‘Sports’ System to sound phenomenal when pushed
hard, yet remain perfectly practical for everyday use.

Enhanced Performance
A vital balance between lower back pressure level
and flow rate is ensured for optimal performance -
without affecting drivability.
This is achieved by combining the best qualities of
racecar exhaust design and standard vehicle exhaust
design to produce some truly innovative and
breathtaking Systems. Developments such as
re-designed internal box chambers, dedicated
performance chambers, straight-through internal
pipe work or larger diameter pipe work
(where necessary), help emit exhaust gasses quicker
- with a reduced build up of backpressure, allowing
the engine to 'breathe' and perform better.
Through a constant process of design and development,
our technicians deem which alterations are most suitable
for a particular vehicle model. Selecting the right
modifications is a complex task, as every engine has
vastly different characteristics.
Our team has the experience and skills to do this.
Typical end results include a more free-revving engine,
improved throttle response and an increase in torque. The
characteristics of modern day driving conditions deem
these enhancements the most valuable.

Larini Catalyst Components
Larini 'Sports' Catalysts
For certain vehicles we produce high performance,
Stainless Steel, Larini ‘Sport’ Cats.
Larini 200-cell sports cats replace the original catalytic
converters, and clean emissions while permitting
a significant power increase - without any technical
or legal issues. The original lambda/heat probes
connections ar retained in their correct positions for the
proper operation of the OBD (On Board Diagnostics)
system.
Original vehicle manufacturer catalytic converters typically
have 600 cells per square inch (cpsi). These original cats
are restrictive in their flow, only allowing an open area of
approximately 55%. A Larini ‘Sports’ Cat, alternatively,
has only 200 cpsi, an open area of 90%, and offers near
unopposed gas flow. The resulting increase in flow rates -
with a modulation of backpressure, allowing the engine to
'breathe' and perform better.
Larini ‘Sports’ Cats are Euro-4/5 emissions level rated -
returning cleaner emission results than most standard
catalysts, making it possible for vehicle tuners to obtain
high power gains, whilst meeting government emission
levels and staying road-legal with high reliability.

Lightweight construction and a ‘Mirror Polished’ effect
ensures fit and finish are vastly superior to the bulky
original items.
NB:Vehicles registered on or after 1st August 1992,
are required to have a fully functioning catalyst fitted
in order to comply with U.K. MOT test requirements.
Larini 'Race' Pipes
The maximum. Larini ‘Race’ Pipes are high temperature
resistant, hollow pipes, which replace the original bulky
catalytic converters. The original lambda/heat probe
connections are retained.
Exhaust flow is completely unobstructed through these
'pipe only' components and as result there is an extremely
noticeable power gain. Temperatures are reduced too, as
accelerated gas-flow minimizes engine-bay temperatures
by dissipating heat more effectively. This is particularly
important for improved performance, as cooler temperatures
boost engine efficiency.
Furthermore, the muffling effect provided by the bulky
stock cats is eliminated, subtly enhancing volume levels.
Every Larini ‘De-Cat’ Pipe is supported by the Larini
Systems Lifetime Warranty.

For off-road use only.

are required to have a fully functioning catalyst fitted
in order to comply with U.K. MOT test requirements.
Larini 'Silenced' Race Pipes
Larini ‘Silenced’ Race Pipes are high temperature resistant,
muffled pipes, which replace the original catalytic
converters. The original lambda / heat probe connections
are retained.
These innovative products deliver similar power increase
as the ‘Race’ Pipes but are 'silenced' using mini-resonators
to reduce volume for those who want more power, with only a
slight increase in volume. Nevertheless, the ‘note’ and
‘tone’ of the engine are significantly improved. Just the
perfect compromise.
Furthermore, torque increase is typically higher than that
of a ‘Race’ Pipe as back pressure levels are modulated
optimally.
For off-road use only.

Refinement
Other manufacturers are happy to offer oversized pipe work,
massively increased volume and huge chrome tips to entice
customers.
But this approach is not ideal, and can often lead to
inefficient performance and a poor experience.
A Larini 'Sports' System, however, offers a combination of
style, torque and acoustic pleasure.
Every Larini 'Sports' System is supported by the Larini
Systems Lifetime Warranty.
Larini 'Club Sport' System
For certain race track bred/focused supercars we
manufacture lightweight ‘Club Sport’ Systems. A Larini
'Club Sport' System is a precision crafted, lightweight,
stainless steel, high performance exhaust system.
Offering all the benefits of a sports system, while
aiding even higher vehicle performance gains, through
lightweight design.
We employ skilled craftsmen devoted to the construction
of the finest factory manufactured lightweight stainless
steel performance exhaust systems. Every measure is taken
to ensure that each Larini 'Club Sport' System offers an
unrivalled level of performance, fit, and sound - all
|
|
with a world-class finish.
Incorporating smaller and lighter box construction
for reduced overall weight, further benefits naturally
include a glorious sound – which will still increase
and decrease with revs. Fit and finish are better
than original.
Despite being lightweight, performance focused
exhaust systems; Larini ‘Club Sport’ Systems do not
vibrate or produce excessive volume at idle or
cruising speeds.
For those looking to explore the realms of lightweight
performance, whilst improving on the longevity
and aesthetics of their standard exhaust system,
a Larini 'Club Sport' System is the perfect choice.
Every Larini 'Club Sport' System is supported by the
Larini Systems Lifetime Warranty.
Please note: Due to potential issues with excessive
volume and vibration, Club Sport systems are not
available for all vehicles listed.

|
Larini 'Race' System
The maximum. For certain Supercars we produce
‘Race’ Systems. These featherweight, typically
tube-only, components offer the ultimate in
weight saving technology and race-car acoustics.
They differ from the norm in that they offer
little or no muffling at all. Consequently,
they are ideally suited for track/off-road use.
The loud and aggressive sound clearly states
intent and where once there was regulation of
exhaust gas outflow in the form of a silencer,
there is now nothing, resulting in a sound and
weight saving greater than our usual
Sports / Club Sport mufflers.
Please note: Due to potential issues with
excessive volume and vibration, Race systems
are not available for all vehicles listed.

Larini Manifolds
Larini 'Sports' Manifolds
Increased diameter and length tubular manifold
pipes optimise exhaust gas outflow from the
engine, over the standard items. They are
essential for those who seek to aid engine
performance. Constructed from stainless steel,
and normally lighter than the standard
components, these components provide increased
performance while increasing efficiency.
For massively accelerated gas-flow reduces
engine bay and operating temperatures,
protecting the engine bay components from
damage, while optimising performance.
Once coupled with a Larini exhaust system,
the owner can expect a significant horsepower
increase.
While also offering major power and torque
gains WITHOUT affecting driveability.
Furthermore, the ‘note’ and ‘tone’ of the
engine is significantly improved once our
manifold is fitted – which offers a pleasant
acoustic improvement over standard.

|
Larini 'Race' Manifolds
The ultimate. For certain Hypercars we
produce ‘Race’ Manifolds. These featherweight,
tubular, equal length, Formula 1 style
components offer the ultimate in
race-car performance.
They are essential for those who are seeking
to maximise engine performance. Massively
accelerated gas-flow reduces engine bay
and operating temperatures, protecting
the engine bay components from damage,
while optimising performance.
Once coupled with a Larini Race exhaust system,
the owner can expect a massive horsepower
increase.
While also offering major power and torque gains
WITHOUT affecting driveability.

Stainless Steel
Every Larini System is constructed using
aviation-grade stainless steel. Stainless
steel's ability to resist corrosion and
maintain its strength at temperature extremes
makes it the only material suitable for a
Larini System.
What is Stainless Steel?
Stainless Steel is essentially low-carbon
steel to which chromium has been added.
It is the addition of chromium, in amounts
greater than 12%, that adds strength and
gives stainless steel its unique 'stainless',
corrosion-resisting properties. The corrosion
resistance, as well as other useful properties
of the steel, is enhanced by the addition
of other elements such as molybdenum,
nickel and nitrogen.
What are the Benefits of Stainless Steel?
Corrosion Resistance - The corrosion resistance
of stainless steel arises from a "passive",
chromium-rich, oxide film that forms naturally
on the surface of the steel. The key to the
durability of the corrosion resistance of
|
|
stainless steel is that if the film is damaged
it will normally self-repair. Whereas other
types of steel suffer from general corrosion,
where large areas of the surface are affected,
stainless steel in the "passive state" is
normally resistant to this form of attack.
This high resistance to corrosion means that
constructing an exhaust from stainless steel
will result in an immeasurably long life span
compared to normal mild steel. Structures made
from stainless steel will often last many times
the normal expected life of a mild steel
structure (well over 100 years in most cases).
Strength - The mechanical properties
of stainless steel allow comparatively thinner
sections to be used than with other materials,
thus reducing weight without compromising strength.
Austenitic grades allow for reduced thickness
over traditional grades, while strength is
actually increased compared to identical amounts
of mild steel.
Aesthetic Appearance - The bright easily
maintained surface of stainless steel provides
an attractive and contemporary appearance,
|
|
ideal for a wide and growing range of applications
and manufactured products.
Low long-term costs - The unique surface
of stainless steel has no pores or cracks to
harbour dirt, grime or rust. Stainless steel
may be more expensive initially, but the extra
value is offset by the durability and longevity
of the steel, and significant cost savings are
achieved in the long run. Therefore, when the
total life cycle costs are considered, stainless
steel is often the least expensive option.
Temperature resistance - Special high-chromium
and nickel-alloyed grades resist scaling, corrosion
and oxidation, and retain strength at high
temperatures.
Stainless steel is used extensively in heat exchangers,
super-heaters, boilers, feed water heaters, valves
and main steam lines as well as aircraft and aerospace
applications because of its excellent resistance to
high temperatures. Additionally, the austenitic
microstructure of the 300 series allows the steel to
easily withstand and perform in temperatures well
below freezing.
|
|
|
Ease of Fabrication - Modern steel manipulation
techniques mean that stainless steels can be cut,
welded, formed and fabricated as readily as traditional
steels and other materials.
Can stainless steel rust?
Stainless steel does not “rust” as you think of
regular steel rusting - with a red oxide on the
surface that flakes off. If you see red rust, or
‘scaling’, it is likely due to some iron particles
that have contaminated the surface of the stainless
steel and it is in fact these iron particles that are
rusting.
If the iron is embedded in the surface it is easily
removed by gently applying pressure via a mildly
abrasive material. Afterwards, stainless steel generally
displays its original finish. Stainless steels typically
require little or no maintenance.
